“Jennifer” was living at an assisted living residence where it was easy for her to walk out without being noticed. When she wandered off during a group outing, the family was told that Jennifer needed to move into Memory Care. As there were no memory care services available at her current residence, she was forced to move to another facility and was paying over $7,000 for a shared room. After she ran out of money, the facility issued a 30-day eviction notice. That facility called the Neighborhood House to see if we would accept a woman in need of memory care services but with very little income. After working with her family to determine her financial outlook, which included a modest home, we admitted Jennifer into the Neighborhood House in a shared room, even before the house was put on the market. We now provide Jennifer with memory care services for thousands of dollars less. The small amount of money Jennifer will receive from the sale of her home will eventually be exhausted, but she is welcome to remain at the Neighborhood House. No one will ever receive an eviction notice from us due to a lack of funds.
WE NEVER ASK ANYONE TO LEAVE DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS
