 “Dan” was living at an assisted living residence in another town. The facility raised his monthly fees because he needed “enhanced care”, which included having someone come in to check his oxygen tanks and to do a skin check. He was paying $8,000 per month. Dan is in his 60s, and this amount was not sustainable for him, especially long-term. By moving to the Neighborhood House, Dan is getting the care he needs for thousands of dollars less each month. Our nurse care managers are helping him manage his medical equipment, providing skin checks, and managing appointments that require skilled assessments — at no extra charge. 

Because Dan is only in his 60s and will probably be with us for a long time, he may eventually run out of money. But, in keeping with our mission as a non-profit, we will never ask him or anyone else to leave due to lack of funds.
